Philadelphia Water Department

Philadelphia, PA

Equipment Used

SolarWorld Modules, PV Powered Inverter

Completion Date

April 2011

Expected Production

320,000 kWh

Producing solar energy at this City-owned water treatment plant reduces our greenhouse gas emissions, creates new jobs, and lowers our electricity bill.

Michael Nutter, Mayor of Philadelphia

Dynamic Energy teamed with CETCO Contracting Services and Nucero Electric to design, engineer and install the 250kW ground mounted system. The array is located at the Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant and is expected to generate approximately 330,000 kilowatt of solar electricity per year.

The Philadelphia Water Department system will displace approximately 220 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. This is equivalent to replacing 1,075 vehicles from Pennsylvania’s roads over the system’s 25-year warranted period
