New Jersey Surpasses 1 Gigawatt of Solar
New Jersey Clean Energy recently announced that 35 MWs of solar was installed throughout the state during the month of February. New Jersey solar companies have now completed 20,340 solar arrays statewide, bringing the total installed capacity of solar in the state of New Jersey to over 1 Gigawatt.
The 35 MWs of solar installed in February almost doubled New Jersey’s monthly quota to keep pace with their Renewable Portfolio Standard. Although the February installation rate was greater than expected, the average installation rate per month has been steadily declining. If this trend continues, it will further support the stability of the New Jersey solar market, ensuring the strength of current SREC pricing.
